In this course, I examine contemporary philosophical perspectives on work and labor through the 20th century to the present, contrasting important themes from academic philosophers’ work with that of Rand. In particular, we will examine themes of the value of work, the concept of exploitation (from both Marxist and non-Marxist perspectives), feminist approaches to work, and the idea of a post-work society.
